so fresh

Today is really dark in a nice kind of way. It rained for a long time; I watched a movie that was self-deemed "not a love story" and subsequently fell for Joseph Gordon-Levitt.

Today is one of those days where, even though I fell asleep unsure and confused and upset (and listening to Konstantine), it doesn't matter as much. Which is funny because if you looked outside, it's damp and chilly and unwelcoming - probably why I've ended up under my dark gray blanket instead of a dark gray sky.

I'm content in my little cocoon right now but I still miss New York. I miss it's convenience and it's noise and my friends. I miss the park and the subways and the pet store and the private gardens on Christopher St. Above all, I'm missing the chance to tell my favorite singer that I love her because I'm scared she doesn't hear that enough.

I want to blog, I want to write. Today seems like a good day to start with a few prompts from Gala Darling, "Curious Tuesday."

1. Who is your #1 crush?
In real life, it's a boy with great hair and a great voice and a great taste in music. It's a boy I've known for too long for us to be anything more than friends.

2. Have you ever tried online dating? How did it go? Any tips?
No, I'm probably a little young for that. The though has crossed my mind, I guess, when I go into my adolescent moods of no one loves me and I'm going to be lonely forever. I'll wait until I'm pushing 40 before I ever log on to match.com

3. Are you sentimental? Do you keep the things other people give you?
Very. I appreciate things, cards or even post-it notes my room mate left on my desk. I have lots of boxes filled with mementos - concert tickets and the McDonald receipts from after, because there is nothing like midnight McNuggets. I have t-shirts from middle school in a box in the attic to preserve the happiness I felt when I got them, like the CIA shirt I bought on the 8th grade field trip to Washington DC.

4. As a child, what were your primary interests?

My parents could probably answer this better than I. Probably Barbies and 'NSYNC and Amber Brown books. I don't remember being too preoccupied with things the way I am now. I remember wanting to start a basketball team and telling everyone I would make it to the pros. But... I can't even play basketball very well. My interests were enjoying myself, singing S Club 7, and drinking a lot of YooHoo.

5. What are your top 3 guilty pleasures?

1) Spending all of money on concerts. Starting today, I will be officially broke and officially happy. I need nothing more than a long stretch of road and loud music, flashing lights, and best friends at the end of it.

2) Gossip Girl, the books and the show. TV doesn't get any better than Chuck Bass getting jilted, sleeping with Little J, and then being shot.

3) Nick Jonas. Enough said.

24 hours ago, I was right here. And then I drove to DC, got stuck in traffic, DIDN'T meet Nick Jonas while my friends DID, and then saw one of the most phenomenal shows ever. Regardless of the fact that I am already a huge Nick-stan, that boy is fucking talenteddddddddd beyond belief. Truly. Also, sexy, gorgeous, endearing, and a huge douche bag all wrapped up into one little rockstar with giant shoulders. My favorite.

I'm doing it four more times over. My life, it's pretty good.

Every post is going to start with some variation of "crap, it's going to be really hard to blog everyday." I'm leaving in 32 minutes to head up to New York City to see Next to Normal, a phenomenal broadway show that I was introduced to earlier this year. If you can get past Aaron Tveit's stunniny good looks, then you will realize that he has a beautiful voice and is just perfect for the character of Gabe. But unfortunately for all of you, tonight is his last show. I'm pumped to see it (again) and to see my good friends for a little.

I CANNOT DECIDE ANYTHING ON THE HAIR CUT FRONT. Uhhh, that is all. I don't want to start talking about Nick Jonas because then I'll never stop.

OH, actually. Let's talk about Kanye for a sec. Just a sec. He is fabulous and I wish he would stop being depressed and make some new music reminiscent of Late Registration.

i can tell it comes naturally

This is why I am going to fail at blogging everyday.... I did almost absolutely nothing today. I am not complaining, however, because back at school I rarely get time to just chill and be alone.

So I guess I'm going to list my New Year's Resolutions. Some of which I have already failed.

1) Write more poetry.

2) Eat healthier... I say this every year.

3) Dress like I actually browse style.com everyday, because I do.

4) Use a planner. (Fail.)

5) I kind of want to take more pictures, but of what? I take enough of myself already on Photobooth. And, I am getting a new camera soon but still...

6) Explore more of New York. But not spend all my money on Broadway.

7) Figure out what the fuck I want to do with my life. This is a biggie.

I think that's all. I am freezing in my room right now. Apparently it's 23 degrees outside but it must be colder because of the windchill.

I'm going back to New York tomorrow! (I almost called it home.) Just going for the evening and coming back, then the rest of the week is going to be a whirlwind of Nick Jonas and his Administration. Cannot wait.

uh oh, it's magic

I am attempting NABLOPOMO again. Except I didn't send them my link, so it probably doesn't technically count. The jist, again, is to blog everyday for a whole month. As you can see, I attempted this in August and rightly failed soon after. I was tempted to deleted those entries but I decided against it because I remember standing in line for a tram back to the parking lots at Magic Kingdom and texting Katee "SHIT I CAN'T UPDATE FROM MY BLACKBERRY. CAN YOU LOG IN FOR ME?" (I could type the entry, but for some reason I couldn't hit the "Publish Post" button.)

Right now, I am vegging out on my couch which I haven't actually done in a long time. I've only been in Pennsylvania for less than two weeks, and the last two nights I spent in Hershey. Katee and I met up with a bunch of our other friends that we made over the summer (I love you all, truly.) and celebrated the coming new year by standing out in the freezing rain for and Honor Society Concert. (Note to self: buy snow boots.)

It was weird, to be honest. It was like my year was coming full circle. Obviously I didn't start last year in the same way, but I started a huge part of my life with the same people in the same place. The first time I ever saw Honor Society (read: the time I didn't care/didn't know any of the words/just thought Alex was a sexy motherfucker who replied to my tweet once) was at Hershey Park in May with a few girls I was just getting to know. Needless to say, I fell in love, and I rounded out the year with a total of seventeen Honor Society concerts and I can't remember if that includes that acoustic set in that mall in Cleveland. This time, I knew all the words and I loved these boys with a huge piece of my heart. I honestly was expecting to wake up this morning with no voice, screaming for them (and crying when Michael Bruno decided to transition Don't Close the Book into Down by Jay Sean on account of how I'm CRAZY) and dancing like there was no tomorrow. I would like to take this time to apologize to Ned for mentally molesting him and his peacoat.

And the girls, my girls. We've all had our ups and downs and barely knew you all in May (not including Katee, who apparently everyone thinks we are lesbians, but really she is just my other half), but now, three tours later, I can't ask for anything more. A bunch of guidos from New York/New Jersey really know how to bring people together, huh? (HERSHEY, YOU KNOW WHAT I SAID?)

Then there was that time I drove extra slow because me and Katee decided it would be extremely appropriate if we rang in the actual new year in the car. Somehow, DJ Earworm decided that he knew us personally and used the Black Eyed Peas' I Gotta Feeling for the background of United State of Pop 2009 and that's what we heard as the clock hit 12:00 and I screamed, scaring Katee and the zero people on the road with us in Bumblefuck, PA. Couldn't have done it any better.

Here's to 2010 (and who gives a fuck what it's called?). Let's make it even better.
